HAMDEN, Conn. – Quinnipiac women's golf head coach John O'Connor has named senior Kayla Ketcheson (St. Andrews, Manitoba) as the Bobcats' captain for the 2013 season. Ketcheson is the lone senior on the Bobcats' roster entering their spring season.
Ketcheson has been the Bobcats' top golfer throughout her career at Quinnipiac after transferring from Northwood University prior after her freshman year. Since joining the Bobcats, Ketcheson has posted nine of the Top 15 rounds in program history and was the first golfer in school history to post a sub-80 round. She also holds eight of the Top 15 36-hole tournament scores and the two lowest 54-hole tournament scores.
"Kayla is an exceptional student and leader," head coach John O'Connor said. "Kayla carries the highest GPA on the golf team and has taken on the leadership role for the team."
This past fall, Quinnipiac won its first tournament in program history when it took the 2012 Quinnipiac Classic. The Bobcats will open the Spring 2013 season on Mar. 17-19 at the C & F Bank Invitational hosted by the College of William & Mary at The Kingsmill Resort in Williamsburg, Va.
