The Bobcats will travel to Williamsburg for the three-day tournament on Mar. 17-19 Kingsmill Resort. Last season, Kayla Ketcheson (St. Andrews, Manitoba) finished at +38 for the tournament. The junior was +9 on the front nine at Kingsmill, before parring on six of her last nine holes of the tournament – her best nine-hole stretch of the tournament.
Ketcheson was named the Bobcats' captain entering her senior year. Ketcheson has been the Bobcats' top golfer throughout her career at Quinnipiac after transferring from Northwood University prior after her freshman year. Since joining the Bobcats, Ketcheson has posted nine of the Top 15 rounds in program history and was the first golfer in school history to post a sub-80 round. She also holds eight of the Top 15 36-hole tournament scores and the two lowest 54-hole tournament scores.
Following its trip to Williamburg, the Bobcats will compete in Monmouth's Hawk Invitational at Jumping Brook Country Club in Tinton Falls, N.J. In 2012, the Bobcats finished 7th out of a nine-team field, ahead of St. Francis Brooklyn and Holy Cross. Following its tournament in Tinton Falls, the Bobcats will play in the Roar-EE Invitational hosted by Columbia at Spook Rock Golf Course in Suffern, N.Y. on Apr. 12 followed by the Brown Invitational on Apr. 14-15 at the Rhode Island Country Club in Barrington, R.I.
Apr. 26-28 will feature the Northeast Conference Tournament at LPGA Int'l Legends Golf Course in Daytona Beach, Fla. The 2012 NEC Championship was rewarding for O'Connor's young program as Ketcheson placed in the top-25, and the Bobcats finished 9th out of the 11 competing NEC schools - ahead of Mount St. Mary's and St. Francis Brooklyn. The team's success garnered O'Connor NEC Coach of the Year honors.
