Quinnipiac freshman standout Nicole Scola (Westerly, R.I.) has been named the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Golfer of the Month for October, as announced by the conference office.
Scola earns the award for the second straight month after garnering September's honor.
Scola competed in three events this month, finishing in the top five in two of the three averaging 78.33 per round and 156.67 per 18-holes. At the St. John's Invitational on Oct. 7-8, Scola finished tied for 4th out of 65 golfers carding a 79 (+7) on the first day before trimming five strokes from her first-day total for a second round 74 (+2) to finish at 153 (+9) for the tournament. At the Rutger's Women's Invitational, Scola finished tied for 34th out of 112 after turning in a 159 (+14) after shooting an 81 (+9) on the first day and a 78 (+6) on the second day. She then finished 2nd out of 34 golfers at the Third Annual Quinnipiac Women's Golf Classic shooting back-to-back 79's for the two rounds.
