HAMDEN, Conn. - Quinnipiac University junior captain Jenn Whaley (Farmington, Conn.) finished the final round of the 36-hole Roar-EE Invitational tied for 10th place out of 23 golfers. The Bobcats finished 5th out of five teams at Columbia University's annual tournament, hosted this year at the Knickerbocker Golf Course in Tenafly, N.J.
"The Knickerbocker Golf Course is beautiful, the weather is great and the greens are playing fast," head coach John O'Connor said. "Jenn Whaley played a great first round and the team is in the hunt. I expect we'll finish strong in this five-team tournament."
Whaley wrapped the first round with a +9, 81 before shooting a 78 on the final 18 holes. Her 159 for the 36 hole tournament was her second best personal school in her two seasons at Quinnipiac, while it also ranks as the 10th best score in program history.
Freshman Emily Ribbins (Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands) shot an 87 (+15) on the first round before following with a 82 (+10) on the final 18 holes to finish at 169 (+25) for a tie of 17th place.
