Boulton corralled the puck on a rebound from a shot off the stick of freshman forward Erica Uden Johansson (Sundsvall, Swededn), and slapped it by the Tigers' sophomore goaltender Cassie Seguin. Uden Johansson earned her sixth assist of the season on the goal.

Freshman forward Kelly Babstock (Mississauga, Ontario) gave Quinnipiac the 3-2 lead on a power-play goal at the 8:32 mark of the second period. Babstock was assisted by junior defender Bethany Dymarczyk (Hamden, Conn.), who picked up her eighth assist of the season on the score.

The Bobcats extended their lead to 4-2 at 17:37 in the second period, on sophomore forward Brittany Lyons' (Canton, Mass.) third goal of the season. Lyons received a centering pass from junior forward Chelsea Illchuk (Lockport, Manitoba) and beat Seguin near post.
