Victoria Vigilanti Named ECAC Hockey/MLX Skates Goaltender Of The Week

HAMDEN, Conn. - Quinnipiac women's ice hockey sophomore goaltender Victoria Vigilanti (Woodbridge, Ontario) has been named ECAC Hockey/MLX Skates Goaltender of the Week, as announced by the league on Tuesday, Mar. 1.

Vigilanti made a combined total of 38 saves over the weekend against No. 4 Princeton in the Quarterfinals of the ECAC Hockey Playoffs. In Game 1 on Friday, Feb. 25, she turned away 20 shots en route to a 2-1 team victory. In Game 2 on Saturday, Feb. 26, the sophomore made 18 saves to earn her league-leading ninth shutout of the season, as the Bobcats skated to a 2-0 win.

On the year, Vigilanti leads ECAC Hockey goaltenders with 21 wins, ranks third with a 1.61 goals against average, and is fourth with a .935 save percentage. The selection was Vigilanti's fifth this season (most among any ECAC Hockey goaltender) and ninth-career Goaltender of the Week honors.

Earlier this week, Vigilanti was awarded with an ECAC Hockey Third-Team All-League selection, marking the second-consecutive season she has received All-League accolades. She was also named a finalist for ECAC Hockey Goaltender of the Year, which was awarded to Yale's Jackee Snikeris earlier today.

Vigilanti and the Bobcats take on No. 1 Cornell in the ECAC Hockey Semifinal Game this coming Thursday, Mar. 3 at 7 p.m.
