HAMDEN, Conn. - Quinnipiac women's ice hockey freshman forward Kelly Babstock (Mississauga, Ontario) has received a feature story in USCHO.com, posted on Saturday, Mar. 5. The article, written by Diana C. Nearhos, highlights Babstock's breakout rookie season and the overall importance which she provides to the team.
Babstock finished the 2010-11 season with 30 goals and 29 assists, leading all NCAA Division I Women's Ice Hockey freshman skaters, as well as all ECAC Hockey skaters in goals, assists and points (59). For her efforts, she was named ECAC Hockey Player and Rookie of the Year, the first skater in program-history to receive both awards in the same season. She was also named First-Team All-League and received an All-Rookie selection.
The freshman is a three time Quinnipiac female athlete of the month (November, December, February), a two-time ECAC Hockey Player of the Week and a five-time ECAC Hockey Rookie of the Week.
