Quinnipiac Women's Ice Hockey Places 13 On ECAC All-Academic Team

2011-12 ECAC Hockey All-Academic Team (Official Release)

ALBANY, N.Y. – The Quinnipiac women's ice hockey team placed 13 student-athletes on the 2011-12 ECAC Hockey All-Academic Team, as announced by the league office today.

Players are eligible for the All-Academic team if they earn a cumulative grade point average of at least a 3.00 on a 4.00 scale or have a GPA over 3.00 over the past three semesters.

Headlining the list of honorees were recent graduates Chelsea Illchuk (Lockport, Manitoba), Jordan Elkins (Wasilla, Alaska) and Melissa Perry (Chelsea, Mich.), who completed their Bobcats' careers as four-time ECAC Hockey All-Academic honorees.

In addition to the trio, Reagan Boulton (Brandon, Manitoba), Amanda Colin (Burnsville, Minn.), Elena Orlando (Winters, Calif.), Erica Uden Johansson (Sundsvall, Sweden), Kate Wheeler (Oakville, Ontario) and Ashley Winslow (Portland, Me.) were named to the time for the second straight season. Breann Frykas (East St. Paul, Minn.), Chelsea Laden (Lakeville, Minn.), Anna Borgfeldt (Kristianstad, Sweden) and Nicole Kosta (Mississauga, Ontario) were first-time honorees.
