HAMDEN, Conn – Women's ice hockey's junior forward Kelly Babstock has been named the ECAC Hockey Player of the Week as announced by the league office on Tuesday, October 9. She claims the honor for the fifth time in three years with the Bobcats after becoming the first Quinnipiac women's ice hockey player to record 100 career points over the weekend.

Babstock had herself a stellar weekend series against No. 9-ranked Mercyhurst with a pair of three-point performances as she had a hand in six of seven Quinnipiac goals in the two games. In Friday's matchup, Babstock tallied an assist at the 7:28 mark of the second period to reach 100 points (48 goals, 52 assists). The program's all-time leader in points, goals and assists would later net her 49th and 50th career goals including the equalizer of Quinnipaic's 4-4 draw on Friday with only 41 seconds remaining. On Saturday, Babstock factored in all three Bobcat goals as she followed with another three points (one goal, two assists) against the Lakers. Entering the weekend as one of the nation's stingiest defenses, allowing two goals in two prior games, Babstock and the Bobcats solved the Mercyhurst defense with seven goals over the weekend.

Last season's All-ECAC Hockey Second-Team honoree and 2012-13 ECAC Hockey Preseason All-League selection currently sits atop the ECAC Hockey standings in points (six), goals (three) and plus/minus (+4). She also finds herself in a tie for 10th in the nation in both points and goals after two games played and also 3rd in points per game (three) behind Minnesota's Hannah Brandt and Amanda Kessel.

The Bobcats return to action on Friday, Oct. 12 as they face off against Maine at 5 p.m. up at the High Point Solutions Arena. After the conclusion of Friday's game, Quinnipiac will hold its annual Bobcat Madness across the hall in Lender Court at the TD Bank Sports Center beginning approximately at 7 p.m.  The women's ice hockey team will then finish the weekend series against Maine on Saturday, Oct. 13 with play scheduled to begin at 1 p.m.
