HAMDEN, Conn. – The Quinnipiac women's ice hockey team took down their second ECAC Hockey Rookie of the Week honors in as many weeks as freshman Meghan Turner (Bedford, N.H.) was named the weekly winner by the league office on Tuesday, February 11, 2014. Turner wins her second career Rookie of the Week honor as she continues to be a key contributor to the success of the No. 10 Bobcats as they head into the final two weeks of the 2013-14 regular season.

This marks the second straight week in which a Bobcat player has earned the ECAC Hockey Rookie of the Week award as fellow classmate Emma Woods (Burford, Ontario) won the honor last Tuesday. This marks the fifth time overall and last time since Oct. 7-14, 2013 that the Bobcats have won the award in consecutive weeks. With Turner picking up her second Rookie of the Week honor, combined with Woods' three this season, Quinnipiac has the most Rookie of the Week winners (five) of any team in the ECAC Hockey.

Meghan Turner picked up the third multi-point game of her young career this past weekend in a road matchup against No. 3 Clarkson to help the Bobcats earn a come-from-behind 3-3 tie from Cheel Arena. She started off picking up her first goal since Nov. 29 (10 games) with 12 seconds remaining in the first period to help knot the score at 1-1 heading into the intermission.

After the Bobcats went down two goals at 3-1 heading into the third period, Turner assisted on an Amanda Colin goal to help ignite the Quinnipiac rally. Turner finished the day with one goal and one assist as well as a +2 plus/minus rating against what was the nation's second-best scoring defense coming into the weekend.

For the season, Turner has compiled an impressive all-around stat line as she has played in all 30 games and totaled 10 points (three goals, seven assists). She also has a plus/minus rating of +12 and great overall consistency as Turner has recorded just one game this season with a plus/minus rating in the negative.

Quinnipiac and Turner will be back in action this weekend as the Bobcats welcome Yale and Brown to High Point Solutions Arena in the regular season home finale for the 2013-14 season.
