Quinnipiac University's High Point Solutions Arena To Host Chinese Women's Ice Hockey National Team's 2014 Training Camp

HAMDEN, Conn. – Quinnipiac University's High Point Solutions Arena at the TD Bank Sports Center will be the training site for the 2014 Chinese Women's Ice Hockey National Team. Team China will practice at High Point Solutions Arena from Aug. 29 through Sept. 19 and will face the Quinnipiac Women's Ice Hockey team in an exhibition game on Saturday, Sept. 20 at 2 p.m.

"It is an incredible honor for Quinnipiac University and the TD Bank Sports Center to be selected as the training facility for the 2014 Chinese Women's Ice Hockey National Team," TD Bank Sports Center Executive Director Eric Grgurich said. "This past March we showcased Quinnipiac University and the TD Bank Sports Center on the national stage as the host site for the Women's NCAA Frozen Four and now this Fall we have an opportunity to showcase our facility on an International stage. This will be a great opportunity for Team China's student-athletes to experience the Quinnipiac community as well. We are looking forward to their visit."

All practices at High Point Solutions Arena will be open to the public. Team China will play a series of exhibition games in Connecticut and Massachusetts, culminating with an exhibition game against the Bobcats on Saturday, Sept. 20 at 2 p.m. at High Point Solutions Arena.   

"We are thrilled to provide this opportunity for the Chinese National Team to train in one of the best college facilities in our country," Quinnipiac Women's Ice Hockey Head Coach Rick Seeley said. "In the process we hope to form a strong relationship with their program. I look forward to interacting with their coaching staff, exchanging ideas, and hopefully it ends with us all learning something."
