COMO, Italy – The Quinnipiac women's ice hockey team's tour of Italy continued on Thursday, Aug. 14 with an early-morning boat tour of the picturesque Lake Como followed by a four hour stay in the hillside village of Bellagio.
In the more than two hour long morning boat ride, the Bobcats took in the many striking images of the surrounding mountains and villages throughout the local province. Highlighting the guided tour was a close-up view of Virgin Airlines owner Richard Branson's island villa as well one formerly owned by vocal legend Elton John.
The team then landed in Bellagio where they quickly made their way to spend much of the afternoon at the beach. They also stopped along the way at the local shops and had their first taste of the homegrown gelato.
The day of sight-seeing ended with an hour-long boat ride on Lake Como back to the main village as the group enjoyed a free evening and dinner at local restaurants surrounding the Hotel Metropole Suisse.
