Women's Lacrosse Hosts CCSU Sunday At Noon

Sunday's Game
The Quinnipiac University women's lacrosse team plays host
to in-state rival and Northeast Conference foe Central Connecticut
State on Sunday at noon. The Bobcats are coming off a narrow loss
to California-Berkeley, 11-9, Friday afternoon at home. Quinnipiac
held a three-goal lead in the second half, before dropping its
fourth game of the season. The Bobcats are tied for the top spot in
the NEC with four other teams with a 1-0 mark.
Scouting the Blue Devils
Central Connecticut comes into Sunday's game with an 0-2
mark in NEC play, while 2-3 overall. The Blue Devils dropped their
conference opener, 14-10 to Bryant on Mar. 6 at home. They followed
that with a 16-4 loss to Virginia Tech and an 18-3 loss to Sacred
Heart Friday in New Britain. Central Connecticut won its first two
games of the season, before the current three-game skid began
against the Bulldogs. Erin Delancey has stepped into the role of
starter this season in goal for the Blue Devils, playing all 300
minutes in net this season. Betsy Vendel leads the team with 17
points on 12 goals and five assists.

Four
For the Fifth-Year
Graduate student and team captain Katie Latonick (Severna
Park, Md.) scored once and recorded three points against the Bears.
Picking up two assists in the first half, Latonick went on to add
another in the second half, while also scoring a goal in the final
30-minute period.
Solid Line
Junior Lauren Matuszczak (East Longmeadow, Mass.) had a
strong statistical performance against the Golden Bears. She scored
two times, while adding an assist, two caused turnovers, three
ground balls and two draw controls.
Sophomore Scores
Marissa Caroleo (North Babylon, N.Y.) scored twice against
Cal. She now has a team-leading 15 goals this season. Caroleo also
leads the team in points this season, all coming from goals as she
has yet to record an assist in 2010.
Fun
and Leading the Way
Junior defender Kaitlyn Kelly (North Massapequa, N.Y.)
leads the Bobcats in both ground balls (17) and draw controls (14)
this season. She had a team-best three draw controls against Cal
and added three ground balls.
Sin
City
Christine Sinnigen (Sudbury, Mass.) filled almost every
column of the stat sheet against California. She scored a goal, the
only free-position goal for the Bobcats in the game, while adding
an assist for two points. She also picked up a ground ball in the
loss. She now has five goals this season, with Friday's
free-position tally her first of 2010.
