Women's Lacrosse Supports Bawa Health Initiative
The Quinnipiac women’s lacrosse team is sponsoring a fundraiser for the Bawa Health Initiative in conjunction with the team’s home fall lacrosse tournament this coming Saturday, Oct. 29. The Bawa Health Initiative is an independent non-profit charitable organization established to provide primary health care to residents of Bawa.

The Quinnipiac Women's lacrosse team visited West Woods School in Hamden last Friday evening as part of the Athletic Department's Positive Play program. The Bobcats helped out with the school's Haunted House, assisted with craft projects and did face painting with the students.

Devon Gibney And Marissa Caroleo Named Women's Lacrosse Captains For 2012
Quinnipiac women’s lacrosse head coach Danie Caro has announced that seniors Devon Gibney (Hopkinton, Mass.) and Marissa Caroleo (North Babylon, N.Y.) will serve as captains for the 2011-12 season. Caroleo, the reigning 2011 Northeast Conference Player of the Year, and Gibney, the 2011 NEC Tournament MVP, will lead the Bobcats following the team’s first-ever NEC Tournament Championship season in 2011.

Women's Lacrosse Kaitlyn Kelly, Lauren Matuszczak And Stephanie Tuorto Named To IWLCA Academic Honor Roll
Quinnipiac women’s lacrosse players Kaitlyn Kelly, Lauren Matuszczak and Stephanie Tuorto were each named to their second consecutive Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches’ Association (IWLCA) Academic Honor Roll squad for the 2010-11 scholastic year. In order to qualify for a spot on the team, players must be at least a junior with a GPA of at least 3.5.

Quinnipiac Women's Lacrosse Honored As 2010-11 IWLCA Academic Squad
The Quinnipiac women’s lacrosse team has been named to the 2010-11 Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches’ Association (IWLCA) Academic Squad, as announced earlier this week. The Bobcats are one of six schools to represent the Northeast Conference on the annual list, which awarded 56 Division I teams in total. Teams must accumulate a 3.0 GPA or higher during the 2010-11 academic year to qualify for the honor.

Women's Lacrosse Kaitlyn Kelly To Play In IWLCA Senior All-Star Game
HAMDEN, Conn. - Quinnipiac women's lacrosse senior defender Kaitlyn Kelly (North Massapequa, N.Y.) has been selected to play in the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) senior all-star game, which is scheduled to be played on Saturday, June 11 in Downingtown, Pa. at the United Sports Training Center. Kelly, who is the sole representative of the Northeast Conference in the weekend's upcoming game, is one of five defenders that will play for the North Squad in the North versus South matchup.

HAMDEN, Conn. - Quinnipiac women's lacrosse junior Marissa Caroleo (North Babylon, N.Y.) has been named to the 2011 Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) Northeast Region Second Team, as announced on Thursday afternoon. Caroleo, the sole representative of the Northeast Conference on an IWLCA Regional Team this season, joins senior Kaitlyn Kelly (North Massapequa, N.Y.) as the only other player in program-history to receive a spot on the IWLCA's national postseason team.

Quinnipiac Women's Lacrosse Announces 2011 Team Awards
HAMDEN, Conn. - The Quinnipiac University women's lacrosse team announced its 2011 team awards in a ceremony Wednesday afternoon. Awards for outstanding attack, midfielder, and defensive player were handed out along with honors for most improved player and the Becca Main Kohli Ultimate Bobcat Award. The Bobcats finished the 2011 season with a 13-5 record after winning their first Northeast Conference (NEC) Championship on their home field on May 1, 2011.

Women's Lacrosse Falls To Navy, 20-5, In NCAA Play-In Game
ANNAPOLIS, Md. - The Quinnipiac women's lacrosse team fell to Navy, 20-5, in the program's first-ever NCAA Play-In Game on Saturday afternoon at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium. The Bobcats finish arguably their most successful season in program-history with a 13-5 overall record after finishing the Northeast Conference regular season in first place with an 8-1 record. The NEC Tournament Champions were unable to prevent the Patriot League Champion Navy squad from advancing to their second-consecutive NCAA Tournament berth, as the Midshipmen improve to 15-5 on the year.

HAMDEN, Conn. - The Quinnipiac women's lacrosse team earned its first-ever Northeast Conference Tournament Championship with a 15-3 victory over Mount St. Mary's on Sunday afternoon at the Quinnipiac Field Hockey & Lacrosse Turf Field. Bobcats' junior midfielder and tournament MVP, Devon Gibney (Hopkinton, Mass.), led the way with six goals and one assist to provide Quinnipiac with its 13th victory of the season, matching its all-time program-high. Quinnipiac's overall record now stands at 13-4, while Mount St. Mary's finishes its season with an 8-11 overall record.

Marissa Caroleo Named 2011 NEC Women's Lacrosse Player Of The Year
HAMDEN, Conn. - Quinnipiac women's lacrosse junior midfielder Marissa Caroleo (North Babylon, N.Y.) was named the 2011 Northeast Conference Player of the Year Thursday night at the league's annual banquet. Caroleo becomes just the second player in program history to earn the honor, joining midfielder Tiffany Manzi who earned the award in 2008. Caroleo is one of three players to represent Quinnipiac on the All-NEC First Team, while three were also named to the All-NEC Second Team.

Bracelets that read the slogan "Fight Like A Girl" will be sold for $5 at the Quinnipiac Field Hockey & Turf Field where No.1-seeded Quinnipiac faces No.4-seeded Sacred Heart at 12 p.m.

The Quinnipiac women's lacrosse team prepares for its season-opener later this week in a non-conference road matchup #$%^against Fairfield (1-0, 0-0 MAAC) on Friday, Feb. 25 at 3 p.m. The Bobcats are coming off their most successful season in #$%^program history in the Northeast Conference, earning a program-best 8-1 record in 2010 conference play. Quinnipiac #$%^performed #$%^well on both sides of the ball in 2010, which contributed to its second-place finish in the NEC. The Bobcats led the NEC #$%^offensively, finishing first in goals per game (12.82), assists per game (6.82) and points per game (19.65).

Women's Lacrosse Chosen As Co-Favorite In NEC Pre-Season Coaches' Poll
The Quinnipiac women's lacrosse team has been selected as pre-season Northeast Conference co-favorite, along with in- #$%^state #$%^rival Sacred Heart, as announced by the league on Wednesday, Feb. 9. The Bobcats finished the 2010 regular season with #$%^a #$%^program best 8-1 record in the NEC and a 10-7 overall mark. Quinnipiac put together its third consecutive one loss season in #$%^conference play en route to its third straight trip to the NEC Championship Game. The Bobcats received three first place #$%^votes, #$%^while Sacred Heart garnered two. Monmouth, which was picked third in the conference, received the remaining five first- #$%^place #$%^votes.

DeStefano, Kelly, Matuszczak Named Women's Lacrosse Captains for 2011
Quinnipiac Women's Lacrosse Head Coach Danie Caro has announced that seniors Lexi DeStefano, Kaitlyn Kelly, and Lauren #$%^Matuszczak will serve as captains for the 2010-2011 season. The trio will be the leaders of a Bobcats team seeking its fourth #$%^straight trip to the Northeast Conference Championship Game. After witnessing the maturation of all three student-athletes last #$%^season, Caro feels confident in their abilities to lead the team as a collective unit.

Women's Lacrosse Receives IWLCA Academic Achievement Honors
The Quinnipiac women's lacrosse team received accolades from the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches' Association #$%^(IWLCA) for academic achievements during the 2009-10 year. The Bobcats are just one of 48 teams to be honored as an #$%^IWLCA Academic Squad. A team must post a collective grade-point average (GPA) of 3.0 or higher to be eligible to receive this #$%^distinction. The Bobcats also landed a program-high seven players from last year's team to the individual IWLCA Academic #$%^Squad. Players must be at least a junior with a GPA of at least 3.5 to qualify for the honor.
