HAMDEN, Conn. – The Quinnipiac women's lacrosse team has been honored as a 2010-11 Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches' Association (IWLCA) Academic Squad, as announced earlier this week. The Bobcats are one of six schools to represent the Northeast Conference on the annual list, which awarded 56 Division I teams in total. Teams must accumulate a 3.0 GPA or higher during the 2010-11 academic year to qualify for the honor.

"I am extremely pleased that the team has been recognized as an IWLCA Academic Squad for 2010-11," said head coach Danie Caro. "This is the sixth consecutive year the program has been honored, and it shows that our student-athletes are as committed to achieving excellence in the classroom as they are on the field. Every year the team sets an academic goal, and it is a testament of their commitment to academic success that they have reached their goal this year. I am very proud of what they have accomplished."

The 2011 NEC Regular Season and Tournament Champion Bobcats posted a team GPA of 3.12 for the academic year.
