Bobcats Face Colonials
The Quinnipiac women's lacrosse team (6-4, 5-0 NEC) looks to remain perfect in conference action when it travels to face Robert Morris (4-8, 2-2 NEC) on Saturday, April 7 at 11 a.m. The Bobcats are coming off a 14-4 victory on Thursday April 5 against Saint Francis (Pa.), maintaining their unblemished 11-0 all-time record against the Red Flash.

The Colonials are coming off a 10-9 double overtime loss to Sacred Heart on Thursday, April 5. Courtney Sicinski finished with a team-high four goals, and Colleen O'Donnell grabbed a game-high five ground balls for Robert Morris, which saw its two-game win streak come to an end. The Colonials held a 9-6 lead with 18:51 remaining in the game, but Sacred Heart netted the final three goals in regulation to send the game into overtime. Emily Pepe tallied the game-winner for the Pioneers, as she finished with a team-high four points (two goals, two assists).
The Colonials' points leader is Waskowicz, who has 29 points on 26 goals and three assists thus far on the season. Courtney Sicinski (17 goals, eight assists) and MacKenzie Lawler (14 goals, nine assists) follow with 25 and 23 points, respectively, for Robert Morris. Goalie Kaitlin Pentz has a combined save percentage of .361 and a goals against average of 12.26.
All-Time Against The Colonials
Saturday will be the eighth time the two sides face each other, as Quinnipiac holds a 7-0 all-time series lead. In their last meeting on March 27, 2011, the Bobcats came away with a 14-11 win. Devon Gibney continued her impressive weekend, matching a career-high six goals in the contests, and sophomore Sarah Allen (Glastonbury, Conn.) dished a game-high three assists. Martello made 12 save in the victory for her second personal victory of the weekend.
Allen Shatters Record
Junior Sarah Allen (Glastonbury, Conn.) dished out seven more assists on Thursday, April 5 against Saint Francis, breaking the program's all-time single-season assist record (previously 44, held by Katie Latonick), to increase her season total to 48 (NCAA-best). Allen currently leads the team, the NEC and all of Division I Women's Lacrosse with a 4.80 assists per game average. With nearly five assists a game, Allen is on pace to break the all-time NCAA record for assists per game in a season which is currently held by Brown's Lauren Becker, who accumulated a 4.17 assists per game mark in 1986.
Keep 'Em In Check
The Bobcats allowed a season-low four goals on Thursday against the Red Flash. The Bobcats have held four of its first five NEC opponents to single digit goal totals, as the squad's 7.40 goals against average is best in the league.
Last Line Of Defense
In five NEC games thus far, senior goalie Noelle Martello (Westbury, N.Y.) leads the league with an incredible 5.89 goals against average and is second with a .580 save percentage. Martello, who broke Quinnipiac's single-season wins total last year (with 12), has wins in each of her last three games for a 4-3 overall record on the year.
A Look Ahead
Following this Saturday's game, Quinnipiac visits Sacred Heart on Friday, Apr. 13 at 4 p.m. The Bobcats then finish the regular season with three-straight home contests against Fairfield on Sunday, Apr. 15 at 12 p.m., Central Connecticut on Friday, Apr. 20 at 4 p.m. and Bryant on Sunday, Apr. 22 at 12 p.m.
