The Quinnipiac University women's lacrosse team will be participating in a non-perishable food drive as part of the CT 6 Play Day on Oct. 14, 2012.
The CT 6 Play Day is a one-day fall tournament played at Yale University's Reese Field and Johnson Field in New Haven, Conn. Other competing schools that are participating in the food drive include Connecticut, Fairfield, Sacred Heart, as well as Quinnipiac and Yale.
The women's lacrosse teams are all asking their fans to support a donation drive to benefit the Connecticut Food Bank. All spectators are asked to bring a non-perishable item to the game so the teams can collect donations to help our neighbors in need. The items most needed include canned vegetables and fruit, pasta and sauce, peanut butter, rice, dry and canned beans, 100% fruit juices (cans, bottles, boxes), tuna and other canned meat, powdered milk, and macaroni & cheese. Personal care items are also needed (toothbrushes, toothpaste, shampoo, hairbrushes, deodorant, razors, shaving cream, etc). Donations will be collected at the entrances to Reese Stadium and Johnson Field.
Quinnipiac women's lacrosse will be coordinating the collection efforts and delivering the donations to the Connectictu Food Bank's East Haven Warehouse.
