Sarah Allen Named NEC Player of the Week

Hamden Conn. – Senior Sarah Allen (Glastonbury, Conn.) of the Quinnipiac Women's Lacrosse team was named the Northeast Conference Player of the Week, announced on Monday April 22, 2013.  The Glastonbury, Conn. native was instrumental for the Bobcats this past weekend, leading the team with 15 points on five goals and 10 assists in two games.

"Sarah had a great weekend for us, and really finished her career on a high note," said head coach Danie Caro. "She has been outstanding for us all season, so it's gratifying to see her recognized by the conference." 

Allen combined for 15 points as Quinnipiac defeated Robert Morris and Saint Francis U this past weekend. In a 16-15 win over RMU, the Glastonbury, Conn. native scored two goals and added six assists for eight points. She also scooped up five ground balls and caused one turnover. She then nabbed seven points with a hat trick and four assists in a 20-8 victory over the Red Flash. Allen, who finished her career at QU with 195 points, currently leads the NEC in points (64), assists (41) and assists per game (2.56).

"Sarah has led the NEC in both assists and points for the past two seasons and has consistently been one of the top attackers in the region," said Caro. "We are extremely proud of Sarah's achievements on the field, and expect to see her name remain in the record books for many years to come."
