Emily Mason is in her first season as an undergraduate student assistant coach for the Women’s Lacrosse program.
Mason played defense for the Bobcats before suffering a career-ending injury in fall of 2012. She was named to the NEC Academic Honor Roll each year of her career, and was named to the IWLCA Academic Honor Roll award. Mason has been an active participant in the Quinnipiac Athletics Positive Play program throughout her career. She served as the lacrosse team’s Positive Play captain in 2010-2011 and 2011-12, helping her squad earn the Positive Play award. Emily has also served on the Student Athlete Advisory Council (SAAC), serving as treasurer in 2011-12. She was honored as a SAAC All-Star award for her contributions last year.
Mason is majoring in Psychology and Elementary Education. She will graduate this spring and will begin classes for the Masters in the Art of Teaching program at Quinnipiac this summer. She is a member of Psi Chi, the International Honor Society in Psychology.
In addition to her role as a undergraduate assistant for the Bobcats, Mason also serves as a Head Coach for the NewLax Lacrosse Club. She also is a volunteer assistant for the Wilton High School Lacrosse team and helps coach for the Wilton Lacrosse Association. During the summer she is also on staff at GameDay Lacrosse camps in New York City. Last summer she worked at the Nike Lacrosse Camp where she introduced lacrosse to inner city youth in NYC.
