Senior Nancy Dunn (Moscow, Pa.) was credited with the assist on the play. The Flames battled back to tie the score at 10-10; and each team would score again before half's end. Cuellar picked up her second try of the game and accounted for all 10 points before halftime.
After the break, Quinnipiac's offensive force, Kosko garnered her first try of the afternoon – putting the Bobcats back on top, 15-10. However, Lee struck back with back-to-back scores to giving Quinnipiac their first deficit all season, 20-15.
With just under 15 minutes to play, Durkin came through with the biggest try of her career, receiving a two-three load pass from Maria Pescatore (North Reading, Mass.) and Megan Hannemann (Manchester, N.H.) for the score. Kosko kept the momentum in Quinnipiac's favor, converting on the game-winning try with just minutes remaining for a 25-20 advantage. The Bobcats' defense buckled down, and prevented a Lee from responding to solidify a five-point win.
The Bobcats defensive effort was terrific as the Flames' offense struggled mightily in second half. Head coach Becky Carlson credits her team's physical fitness as the main reason for the victory.
