HAMDEN, Conn. – Quinnipiac women's rugby sophomore Natalie Kosko (Sebastian, Fla.) showcased her talents on a national stage at the 2013 U20s Nation's Cup, and was tabbed as one of 'Five to Watch' in future USA Rugby AIG Women's Junior All-American events.
Entering her sophomore year at Quinnipiac, Kosko exemplified the power and athleticism of the USA squad at this year's Nations Cup. Able to play at outside center or on the wing, Kosko combined raw pace with an exceptionally strong hand off, making her a dangerous runner against any defense. In a team of athletes, this young winger looks set to be a danger in the international game over the coming years, especially with the emergence of the USA women's 7s team. Kosko factored in the team's 27-17 win over England with a try in the victory.
Kosko put her name on the map with a tremendous rookie season that saw a third place finish in the USA Rugby Emirates Airlines Collegiate National Tournament. Kosko led the Bobcats with 155 points on 31 tries in 2012-13, seven of them coming in the playoffs. In the consolation game, Kosko posted 20 points on four tries in the 22-20 victory over Buffalo.
