Sophomore Natalie Kosko marked a career high with five tries in one game against the Panthers of Eastern Illinois (8/31).  The wing, so far, has 60 points this season and totals 175 points for her career in just her second season playing for Quinnipiac.

The women's rugby team went on to defeat Virginia by a final score of 34-12 at Madison Bowl Field, improving to 4-2 on the season.  Sophomore Devon Vieira amassed a career high of four tries in a game.  Freshman Christie Albers also scored the first points of her Bobcat career posting 10 points for the win.

Austin Hill Project
Quinnipiac University women's rugby has created and developed the Austin Hill Project. Austin is an amazing 14 year old young man from Colorado Springs who suffers from Cystic Fibrosis since being diagnosed at 18 months of age. While Austin fights this disease on a daily basis, due to his condition he is unable to participate in athletics. A port-a-cath that assists in his treatments lies three inches from his heart creating safety concerns in contact sports. Austin is currently a member of the Colorado Springs Tiger Rugby team, but is unable to participate.

Fundraising for Austin
Quinnipiac women's rugby has proudly partnered with Quinnipiac's newest 2013 addition of the School of Medicine and also the School of Engineering. Quinnipiac doctors, professors, engineers and students will work alongside the women's rugby program and athletics in this campaign to develop a chest protector for Austin so he may be able to play sports again. The funds raised will subsidize the cost of the creation of the chest protector.

T-Shirts for the Austin Hill Project
Each member of the women's rugby team will wear a purple T-shirt before each game to honor Austin and support the fight against Cystic Fibrosis. Each donation and purchase of a purple "I Play for Austin" tee will go directly to the development of this chest protector. Each tee is $15.
