Quinnipiac Women's Soccer and Intramurals Host Second Annual "Give Cancer The Boot!" Fundraiser Event

HAMDEN, Conn. - The Quinnipiac University women's soccer team, in conjunction with the Quinnipiac Intramurals Department, will be hosting the Second Annual "Give Cancer the Boot!" fundraiser event on Sunday, May 1 at the Quinnipiac Soccer Field. The event will feature a co-ed 4x4 soccer tournament starting at 10 a.m. This year, proceeds will be donated to TEAL, 'Tell Every Amazing Lady about ovarian cancer.'

Come out to the Quinnipiac Soccer Field on Sunday, May 1 for the Second Annual "Give Cancer the Boot" event! This year the Quinnipiac women's soccer team and intramural department will donate the proceeds to TEAL, 'Tell Every Amazing Lady about ovarian cancer.' Last year, the event raised over $600 dollars for cancer research.

"The first tournament last year was very successful in terms of student participation and money raised," said Quinnipiac women's soccer head coach Dave Clarke. "I hope that we can make this year's event even better by registering more teams and raising more money for a very worthy cause."

The event will be a competitive 4v4 co-ed soccer tournament where you, the students, will get the chance to show off those soccer skills, have a lot of fun, and help raise awareness for a good cause! So grab 3 girls and 3 guys for each team and enter right away!

"We're very excited to have the opportunity raise money for a great cause and host another soccer tournament this year for our devoted intramural soccer participants," said Assistant Athletic Director for Intramurals Mike Medina.

Registration is $5 per player, or $30 per team, and the winner of the tournament will not only get bragging rights, but a prize only fit for a champion! The women's soccer team thanks you in advance for your support and hopes to see everyone on the field on May 1!
