HAMDEN, Conn. – Quinnipiac women's soccer senior forward Furtuna Velaj (Stamford, Conn.) has been named one of the Northeast Conference's top-20 players, according to the national club and collegiate soccer website, TopDrawerSoccer.com
Velaj, who currently leads the team with five goals and one assist, is listed as the fifth best player in the NEC. Her offensive explosiveness has come in bunches this season, as she collected two goals against Canisius on Friday, Sept. 2, a goal and an assist against Lehigh on Friday, Sept. 16 and two goals against Fairleigh Dickinson on Friday, Sept. 30.
The senior currently ranks tied for third in the NEC with .50 goals per game and is sixth in the league with 1.10 points per game.
Velaj and the Bobcats return to action on Friday, Oct. 14 when they host NEC opponent Long Island at 3 p.m.
