2011 Season Finale
The Quinnipiac University women’s soccer team hosts
NEC opponent Bryant University in both teams’ final game of
the 2011 season on Friday, Nov. 4 at 3 p.m. at the Quinnipiac
Soccer Field. The Bobcats enter the match-up at 4-10-1 overall and
3-6 in the NEC, while the Bulldogs currently stand at 8-7-3 on the
year and 4-4-1 in league action.
Senior Day
Quinnipiac will honor its five graduating student-athletes
prior to Friday’s game against Bryant. The Bobcats will
recognize seniors Furtuna Velaj (Stamford, Conn.), Chelsea Smith
(Terryville, Conn.), Kristina Del Mistro (East Williston, N.Y.),
Jill Kelley (Simsbury, Conn.) and graduate student Kyla Miles
(Newtown, Conn.) for their accomplishments while at Quinnipiac.

All-Time Against The
Bulldogs
Quinnipiac leads the all-time series with Bryant, 2-1.
Last season, the Bobcats shut out the Bulldogs, 1-0, on the road on
Oct. 22, 2010.
Scouting Bryant
Bryant enters Friday’s make-up game at 8-7-3 on the
year. The Bulldogs improved to 4-4-1 in league action after
defeating Mount St. Mary’s, 2-1, in its most recent outing on
Oct. 28. The team has also picked up NEC wins against Wagner,
Fairleigh Dickinson, and Robert Morris this season. The
Bulldogs’ offensive efforts have been led by Ari Goldberg and
Kaitlyn Hick, who each post a team-high 10 points this year. Hinck
also leads the team with four goals, while Goldberg has talled a
team-leading four assists. Bryant goldkeepers Kelsi Jacob and
Lauren VIverito have split time in net this year, making 12 and
nine appearances, respectively. Together, the goalies have made 72
saves and allowed 27 goals this season.
Last Time Out
Quinnipiac fell, 4-2, at Central Connecticut State on
Friday, Oct. 28 under the lights. Senior Furtuna Velaj and junior
Crystal Burns each notched a goal for the Bobcats. Freshman Mary
Rose Corrado earned her first assist of the year in the NEC
contest.

Quinnipiac senior Furtuna Velaj was recently featured on
NBC30 in a report by sports anchor Kevin Nathan. Velaj currently
posts 93 career points and leads the team with 13 points and six
goals this season.
