Women's Soccer Volunteers With Special Olympics Connecticut
CHESHIRE, Conn. – The Quinnipiac women’s soccer team volunteered at the 2011 Fall Middle School Unified Sports Soccer Tournament, sponsored by Special Olympics Connecticut, at Quinnipiac Park in Cheshire, Conn. on Tuesday, Oct. 11.
Members of the women’s soccer team assisted participants during the opening ceremonies and throughout the games. The Bobcats officiated, took score and kept the time for each game.
“Volunteering with the Special Olympics gives the players an opportunity to give back to the sport that’s been good to them,” said head coach Dave Clarke. “It also gives them an understanding and an appreciation for being able-body athletes and all that they have at Quinnipiac.”
The Quinnipiac women’s soccer team will host Northeast Conference games against Long Island on Friday, Oct. 14 at 3 p.m. and Wagner on Sunday, Oct. 16 at Noon. Both games will be held at the Quinnipiac Soccer Field in Hamden, Conn.
