Woodfine Named as College Sports Madness Player of the Week

HAMDEN, Conn. – Women's soccer senior forward Kemesha Woodfine (Stanford, Conn.) was named the College Sports Madness Player of the Week, announced on Tuesday, September 4, 2012 by College Sports Madness.com. Woodfine played an instrumental role on Quinnipiac's offensive line this past week, collecting game-winning goals in both match-ups against Vermont and Holy Cross.

The Stamford, Conn. native led the team with two goals as the Bobcats picked up a pair of non-conference wins. Woodfine collected the game-winning goal on Friday, Aug. 31 in the Bobcats' 2-1 win against Vermont, followed by another game-winner in the 27th minute of action in the Bobcats' 1-0 win against Holy Cross in Worcester, Mass. Woodfine now has four career goals going into her last season.

The Bobcats will return to action Friday September 7, when they take on New Jersey Institute of Technology in a non-conference match-up. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. under the lights at Lubetkin Field at J. Malcolm Simon Stadium in Newark, N.J.
