HAMDEN, Conn. – The Quinnipiac University women's soccer team earned the National Soccer Coaches Association of American (NSCAA) Team Academic Award for the 2011-12 academic year. Quinnipiac was one of the schools honored nationwide by the NSCAA after posting a grade-point average (GPA) above 3.0.
"The majority of my players attend Quinnipiac because of the majors the school has to offer.," said head coach Dave Clarke. "Therefore, it is important for the standing of the program to continue to receive the team academic award. It demonstrates to recruits and observers that we take academic progress seriously which after all is the most important category as to why a player chooses a school. To maintain high academic standards while also having a successful season on the field is a credit to every one of my players."
One of 505 teams recognized for their achievement in the classroom, the women's team combined for a GPA of 3.22.
