Bobcats Face Familiar Foe For Senior Day
The Quinnipiac University women's soccer team plays host Monmouth University on Saturday, Oct. 26 at 1 PM. The matchup is a battle between the (3-3-3 MAAC) Bobcats and the (8-0-1 MAAC) Hawks. Monmouth has clinched the No. 1 seed in the MAAC while Quinnipiac is looking to pick up some crucial MAAC points before the MAAC tournament next week. Quinnipiac currently sits in seventh in the MAAC one point behind Siena for fifth place. 

Senior Day
Prior to the game the Quinnipiac University Department of Athletics and Recreation will honor the accomplishments of Senior defenders Aine McKeever, Taylor Healey, Beck Kiting, and Mary Rose Corrado, who will wrap up their four year careers at the end of the 2013 season.

Last Time Out
Freshman forward Jessica Fontaine (Enfield,Conn.) scored her third career goal on Wednesday afternoon, as the Quinnipiac Bobcats defeated the Manhattan Jaspers at the QU Soccer Field. Sophomore goalie Natalia Grodzki (Bartlett, Ill.) made five saves on her way to a clean sheet. Grodzki now has 5.5 shutouts in her career.

A Milestone for Clarke
With a win over Manhattan on Oct. 23rd Head Coach Dave Clarke picked up his 120th career victory.

Scouting the Hawks
Monmouth is off to a 14-1-1 overall start (8-0-1 MAAC). The Hawks are coming off a 3-0 win over Saint Peter's on Wednesday, Oct. 23rd. Monmouth has clinched the No. 1 seed in the upcoming MAAC Tournament. Monmouth had four conferences titles as a member of the NEC. Monmouth returns 16 players from last year's squad. Nine of those players made at least ten starts last season. The 2012 team went 10-7-2 overall and 7-2-1 in conference play.
The Hawks return forwards Dana Costello and Monique Plescia for their senior seasons. Plescia was second team All-NEC in 2012 and had 30 career points coming into this season. Plescia has five goals this season which puts her at 40 career points. Dana Costello was a 2011 and 2012 1st Team All-NEC player. She was the team leading scorer the first three seasons of her career. She is second on the team with six goals this season. With those six goals she now has 72 points for her career.

Series History with Monmouth
Quinnipiac bring a long rivalry from the NEC into the MAAC. The rivalry dates back to 1998 when the Bobcats first entered Division I. Monmouth leads the all-time series with an 11-6-1 all-time record.

 If The Season Ended Today
With every women's soccer team in the MAAC making the MAAC tournament this season every single result will determine the opening round matchups at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex. Quinnipiac is currently in seventh one point behind Siena for fifth place while Rider is tied with Siena for fifth. Quinnipiac holds the tiebreaker over Rider after defeating Rider. Quinnipiac would face the Manhattan Jaspers who sit in tenth if the opening round started today. Seeds 1 through 5 receive an opening round bye in the MAAC Tournament.

Fontaine Ties Team Lead
Freshman forward Jessica Fontaine scored her third career goal in Quinnipiac's 1-0 win over Manhattan on Oct. 23rd. She is now tied with Aine McKeever for the team lead in goals. Fontaine leads the team with nine points

 Lavoie Scores First Career Goal
Junior Jess Lavoie scored her first career goal on Oct. 19, 2013. She has appeared in 45 games as a Bobcat making 42 starts and has one goal and one assist for her career.

McKeever Sets Single Season High
With a penalty kick goal against Niagara senior Aine McKeever tallied her third goal of the season which sets her career high for a season. The defender/midfielder now leads the team in goals scored on the season.

Grodzki Named Defensive Player of the Week
After two stellar performances for the week of Sept. 23-Sept. 29, sophomore Natalia Grodzki (Bartlett, Ill.) has been named the MAAC Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week, announced Monday, Sept. 30, 2013 by the league's office. Grodzki was instrumental in net for the Bobcats, which included a week that saw the Bobcats go 1-0-1 to put them on top of the MAAC table.

Fontaine Is Honored
After a game in which she had four points freshman Jessica Fontaine (Enfield, Conn.) has been named the MAAC Women's Soccer Rookie of the Week, announced Monday, Sept. 23, 2013 by the league's office. Fontaine was a key contributor in the Bobcats first win as a member of the MAAC. Fontaine finished the day on Saturday with a goal and two assists as the Bobcats opened conference play with a 3-0 win over Saint Peter's

Grodzki & Graessle Combine For Clean Sheet
On Sat. Sept 21 sophomore goalie Natalie Grodzki (Bartlett, Ill.) and junior goalie Tori Graessle (Millburn, N.J.) combined for a shutout in the Bobcats first game as a member of the MAAC against Saint Peter's. Grodzki played 76 minutes in net making two saves while Graessle finished out the final 14 minutes of the win. Grodzki also posted a clean sheet on Sunday Sept. 8 through two overtimes against Holy Cross.

MAAC Preseason Coaches' Poll
The Quinnipiac University women's soccer team was selected to finish eighth in the 2013 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Preseason Coaches' Poll, announced by the league office on Wednesday, August 21, 2013. The Bobcats, who have advanced to postseason play in three of their last five seasons, will look to turn some heads in their first season in the MAAC.

The Senior Class
Quinnipiac brings back four seniors for the 2013 campaign. Taylor Healey, Beck Kiting, Aine McKeever and Mary Corrado are all set for one last go in a Bobcats' uniform. Healey played in all 17 games last season while starting in 13 of them and had two goals on the year. Kiting started all 17 games last year and had two game winning goals for the Bobcats including one against Mount St Mary's (10/14) in the 106th minute. McKeever played in all 17 games, which included 14 in a starting role, scoring one goal and assisting on two others while Corrado played in three games.

Shutdown defense
The Quinnipiac women's soccer team defense ranked nationally in two NCAA defensive statistics and goals against average in 2012. The team posted a .737 goals against average which ranked 34th nationally while they were tied with Western Illinois for 42nd in the nation with a .471 shutout percentage.

 #15 For Clarke
Head Coach Dave Clarke enters his 15th season at the helm of the Bobcats women's soccer program while entering his first season in the MAAC Conference. Through his first 14 seasons at Quinnipiac, Clarke owns a 117-110-24 record. He picked up his 100th career win back in the 2010 campaign with a win over Bryant University.

An Honor for Eriksen
Sophomore defender Nicole Eriksen (Stamford, Conn.) was named to the 2013 College Sports Madness MAAC Conference Women's Soccer Preseason All-Conference Second Team, announced on Tuesday, August 13, 2013 by members of the association. The list of athletes includes the top players in women's soccer for the upcoming campaign.

Going to Disney World
The MAAC hosts one sport every year as a part of a four sport rotation at the ESPN World of Sports Complex in Orlando, Florida. The 2013 MAAC Women's Soccer Tournament will be the tournament held at the complex. Instead of the normal four team format every MAAC Conference team qualifies for the tournament held from October 31st to November 2nd.

The Look Ahead for the Bobcats
The Bobcats will travel to Orlando, Florida to participate in the MAAC Tournament. The tournament kicks off on October 31st. Times and seedings will be determined after Saturday's results.
