HAMDEN, Conn.- Quinnipiac women's soccer senior Aine McKeever (Derry City, Northern Ireland) was selected to play in the 2013 New England Intercollegiate Women's Soccer Association (NEWISA) Senior Bowl announced by coaches all around the Northeast region. The game is set to take place on Saturday, December 7 at Merrimack College in Boston, Mass. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 pm.
McKeever concluded her collegiate career with a career high in points in her senior season. McKeever had a career high in goals in 2013 with three, which was also tied for the team lead. In her career she totaled seven goals to go alongside seven assists for a total of 21 points. She finished 13th all-time for appearances in a Bobcats uniform with 65 appearances missing just two games over the course of her four year career.
McKeever was an important part of a Bobcats midfield/backline that registered 21 shutouts over the last four seasons. She was part of a Quinnipiac team that was undefeated against the top four MAAC finishers and was a part of a Bobcats team that shut out the top two seeds in Monmouth and Fairfield.
McKeever registered a season high in points this season against St. Joseph's on Sept. 1. She set up freshman Jessica Fontaine's (Enfield, Conn.) first career goal off a set piece and also scored a goal of her own off a free kick just outside of the box. McKeever was perfect on penalty kicks this season with a penalty kick goal against Siena on Sept. 25 and a penalty kick goal against Niagara on Oct. 12.
