Stephen Coxon has been hired as assistant women's soccer coach at Quinnipiac University, as it has been announced by head women's soccer coach Dave Clarke. Coxon joins the Bobcats with nine years of high school and college coaching experience. Most recently, Coxon led the Farmington High School Girls Soccer team to a No. 5 national ranking and a 108-9-8 record over seven seasons.
Coxon also has served as the director of coaching for the Connecticut Football Club and Connecticut United Football Club since 2000. The CFC/CUFC Girls Premier club is currently ranked No. 20 in the nation.
Coxon's resume also includes an assistant coaching stint at the University of New Haven from 1997-99.Other coaching achievements include a USSF "B" License, being named 2003 CJSA Female Soccer Connecticut Coach of the Year, 2004 CGCSA Female Soccer Connecticut High School Coach of the Year and being the head coach of the 2003 CFC Wolves, who were ranked No. 1 in the Nation and were Region 1 Champions.
Coxon is also the founder and president of CFC LLC. CFC consists of 30 premier girls soccer teams located in the state of Connecticut. CFC also runs year round clinics and camps located throughout Connecticut and Massachusetts. He's also the owner of Soccerhead.com LLC, the largest soccer website in the state of Connecticut. The website currently has 1200 members and receives over 4 million hits per year.
Presently, Coxon is also one of the owners and operators of the CFC Arena, a 40,000 square foot indoor center located in Hamden, Conn.
He holds a BA in Sociology from Central Connecticut State University.
