Women's Tennis Defeats Mount St. Mary's, 6-1

EMMITSBURG, Md. – Four Bobcats earned double wins as the Quinnipiac University women's tennis team defeated Mount St. Mary's, 6-1, Friday afternoon in its Northeast Conference opener. With the win, the Bobcats improve to 5-6 (1-0 NEC), while the Mountaineers fall to 4-7 (1-1 NEC).

Mary Wilson (Greensburg, Pa.) and Adrienne Markison (Princeton, N.J.) paired to win at No. 1 doubles, 8-5, defeating Emily Bolchoz and Emma Haley. Wilson then defeated Bolchoz, 7-5, 6-2, at No. 1 singles, while Markison beat Chelsea Johnson, 6-4, 6-4, at No. 2 singles.

Nicole Adams (New Windsor, N.Y.) and Kasey Rosenberger (Pittsford, N.Y.) combined on an 8-5 win against Emily Grugan and Alissa Thayer at No. 3 doubles. Rosenberger then defeated Grugan, 6-4, 6-3, at No. 5 singles, while Adams beat Lauren Clark, 6-0, 6-3, at No. 6.

Natalie Duckor (North Tustin, Calif.) also earned a win at No. 3 singles, defeating Kaitlin Hallahan, 6-3, 6-2.

The Bobcats return to action Sunday, March 22, when they play host to Binghamton. Matches are set to begin at 10 a.m.
