HAMDEN, Conn. – Freshmen Jacqueline Raynor (Garden City, N.Y.) and Michelle Dassa (Marlboro, N.J.) won their 19th doubles match of the season on Sunday afternoon, but the Quinnipiac University women's tennis team dropped a regional, non-conference clash to Fordham University, 7-0, at the QU Outdoor Tennis Courts.

With the loss, the Bobcats descend to 4-9 on the season, while the visiting Rams improve to 14-4.

Raynor and Dassa earned the lone doubles triumph on the afternoon, as the duo outlasted Sarah Ali and Bella Genkina in the No. 2 flight. With the score knotted at eight apiece, Raynor and Dassa took the match, 9-8 (5), after taking the tie-breaker. However, Fordham captured the No. 1 and No. 3 match-ups to solidify the first point of the contest.

The Rams continued their early success in the singles' portion as well, sweeping the Bobcats in all six match-ups. Dassa put forth the best effort, as the Marlboro, N.J. native forced a tie-break. Unfortunately, she was outlasted, 6-2, 5-7 (12-10), falling to 6-10 on the season.

Fordham returns to the court on Tuesday, April 3 at 10:30 a.m. The Rams will take on Temple in Philadelphia, Pa.

The Bobcats continue their 2012 schedule on Wednesday, April 4 with an away match at Providence. First serve is set for 2 p.m. at the Centre Court Tennis Club. For all information regarding the women's tennis program, please visit www.QuinnipiacBobcats.com.
