BOSTON - The Quinnipiac University women's indoor track team ran at the Terrier Invitational hosted by Boston University Friday afternoon. The meet was held at BU's Track and Tennis Center and featured schools from all over the Northeast. Sophomore Morgan Roche (Clifton Park, N.Y.) and freshman Becca White (Natick, Mass.) each qualified for the ECAC Championships with their finishes in the 3000-meter and 5000-meter races, respectively.
Roche ran a 9:55.21 in the 3K race, placing sixth in the second section. White was tenth overall in the 5000 meters. Her time of 17:25.54, like Roche's time in the 3000, was good enough to qualify for the ECAC Championships later this season on the same track at BU.
"I am thrilled with the personal records today," said Head Coach Carolyn Martin. "Even those who did not set PR's were able to set season-best times in their races. I am very happy with the way the entire team ran today on this track."
Julie Lanning (Victor, N.Y.) was one of the Bobcats who turned in an impressive performance on Friday. Her time of 5:23.72 in the mile placed her in the top half of runners competing in the event. Hannah Donadio (Killingworth, Conn.) finished 16th overall in the 1000 meters. She crossed the line in 3:08.13.
The Bobcats return to action next Saturday, Feb. 6, when they travel to Hanover, N.H., to run in the Dartmouth Invitational. The meet is scheduled to begin at noon.
