Women's Indoor Track Competes At Yale Invitational

HAVEN, Conn. - The Quinnipiac University women's indoor track team
competed at the Yale Invitational on Saturday, January 15, in its
first meet of the new year, since competing at Yale in its
Lidlifter Invitational on Dec. 4. Nearly two dozen schools
participated at the College Invitational.
The Bobcats' performances were highlighted by freshman Brianna
Faust (Macungie, Pa.), who placed third in the 3,000-meter race
with a time of 10:29.51.
"I think we had some really good performances today," said
Quinnipiac Head Coach Carolyn Martin. "I'm looking forward to
trying out new people in different events in our upcoming meets.
I'm excited to see how our team will perform in the next couple of
weeks."
Quinnipiac had three runners place in the top-12 spots of the one
mile-race, including Julie Lanning (Victor, N.Y.), who finished in
seventh place with a time of 5:22.18, Christina Faust (Macungie,
Pa.), who placed 11th in 5:26.97, and Paige Pallotto
(Westbrook, Conn.), who ran the mile in 5:20.23, good for a
12th place finish.
The Bobcats finished the distance medley relay in fourth place
overall, with a time of 12:49.45. Four Quinnipiac runners
participated in the race, including Andrea Szarkowicz (Watertown,
Conn.), Hannah Donadio (Killingworth, Conn.), Alex Seitz
(Annendale, N.J.) and Jeana Favat (Gibbsboro, N.J.). Donadio ran
the first 1,200-meter leg, while Seitz and Favat ran the 800-meter
and 400-meter races, respectively. In addition, Szarkowicz ran the
one-mile leg of the race.
In the 800-meter race, Quinnipiac's Rebecca Smith (Hardyston, N.J.)
finished in 14 place with a time of 2:32.5.
The Bobcats will race at the University of Rhode Island
Invitational on Saturday, January 22 at 11:30 a.m. in Kingston,
R.I.
