Women's Indoor Track Competes At Dartmouth Classic
HANOVER, N.H. - The Quinnipiac University women's indoor track
team ran at the Dartmouth Classic on Saturday, Feb. 5 in Hanover,
N.H.
Quinnipiac's performances were highlighted by Amanda Faust
(Macungie, Pa.) in the 3,000-meter run. The freshman runner placed
fifth in the event with a time of 10:31.03
"I thought we ran really well over the weekend," said Head Coach
Carolyn Martin.
The Bobcats also had strong performances in the one-mile run.
Becca White (Natick, Mass.) was the first Quinnipiac runner to
cross the finish line and fifth overall, with a time of 5:08.82.
Kristen Stevens finished next for Quinnipiac, in 5:12.37, while
Brianna Faust (Macungie, Pa.) finished with a time of 5:12.37.
Also, Jill Humphreys Burlington, Conn.) ran the one-mile in
5:26.12.
Christina Faust (Macungie, Pa.) placed 10th in the
1,000-meter run, where she finished in 3:11.53. In the 800-meter
run, Alexandra Seitz (Annandale, N.J.) crossed the finish line in
ninth place with a time of 2:27.49.
Quinnipiac had four runners participate in the 4x800-meter relay,
including Seitz, Humphreys, White and Hannah Donadio (Killingworth,
Conn.). The Bobcats finished the relay in third place in
10.03.74.
"I'm really happy that we were able to hit some standards that
will allow us to run more people at the NEC Championships next
weekend," said Martin. "I think we'll be seeing some season bests
at the NEC's."
The Bobcats return to action when they compete at the Northeast
Conference Championships on February 12 and February 13. Quinnipiac
was predicted to finish in seventh place at the Championships in
the Pre-Championship Poll, which was announced last week.
