BOSTON, Mass. – The Quinnipiac University women's indoor track and field team competed at the 2012 Terrier Invitational at Boston University on Friday, Jan. 27. The Bobcats competed against student-athletes from more than two dozen colleges and universities at the Boston University Fitness & Recreation Center.

"I think we're really starting to get into the championship season," said head coach Carolyn Martin. "The girls are coming into their own and running great times. Overall, the season is coming together and I hope we continue to see improvements in their times."

Sophomore Jessica Soja (Simsbury, Conn.) paced the Bobcats in the one-mile run as she ran a season-best time of 5:12.91 to place 45th overall. Junior Jill Humphreys (Burlington, Mass.) followed in 54th, setting a personal record with a time of 5:15.66.

Freshman Rebecca Stabile (Haverhill, Mass.) came close to setting a new school record as she placed 19th overall in the 800-meter run. Stabile crossed the finish line at 2:16.27, while senior Rachel Morelli (Philadelphia, Pa.) finished the event in 40th place with a time of 2:23.16.

Senior Morgan Roche (Clifton Park, N.Y.) ran a great race in the 3000-meter run, placing 21st in 9:53.85. Sophomore Christina Faust (Macungie, Pa.) was the next QU runner to cross the finish line in 56th at 10:38.26. The Bobcats were led by junior Rebecca White (Natick, Mass.) in the 5k, as she finished in 24th place with a time of 17:25.44. Sophomore Amanda Faust (Macungie, Pa.) finished close behind White, placing 30th in 17:47.75, while sister Brianna ran the 5000-meter run in 18:08.79 for 38th.

The Bobcats' performances were also highlighted as senior Amanda Duggan (Waldwick, N.J.) broke three school records in the triple jump, long jump and 60s. "Amanda competed in the triple event today," said assistant coach Steve Belanger. "It's a pretty touch combination and despite injuries, I think she did really well in each of her events."

The Bobcats also compiled a time of 4:15.04 in the 4x400-meter relay. Quinnipiac was represented by four freshmen including, Stabile, Katy Petrie (Cranston, R.I.), Kayla Sims (Meriden, Conn.) and Nikki Smith (Tewksbury, Mass.) in the relay.

Quinnipiac returns to action when it competes at the Dartmouth Invitational on Saturday, Feb. 4 at the Leverone Fieldhouse in Hanover, N.H.
