Five Quinnipiac Teams Earn NCAA Public Recognition Award for High APR Score
Five Quinnipiac University teams have received a Public Recognition Award from the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) for earning high scores in the most recent Academic Progress Rate (APR) compilation.

Women's Indoor Track Breaks One More School Record at ECAC Championships; Closes Out Season With 26 on the Year
The Quinnipiac women's indoor track team closed out its 2012-13 season in style as they broke another school record, their 26th record-breaking run on the year, as they finished their season at the ECAC Championships. The Bobcats’ distance medley relay team scored a time of 11:49.62 to obliterate the previous school record broken a week earlier at the New England Championships. The 4 x 800m relay team also put together an eighth place finish to earn the Bobcats one point on the afternoon.

4 x 800m Relay Team Qualifies for Finals at ECAC Championships; Three More School Records Fall for Women's Indoor Track
It was quite a day for the Quinnipiac women's indoor track team as the Bobcats broke school records in three out of the five events they competed in today and were also able to qualify for the 4 x 800m relay finals tomorrow from the ECAC Championships at Boston University. With three more records falling, this now brings the Bobcats’ incredible total to 25 times now that program records have been bested in events this season. Graduate student Morgan Roche (Clifton Park, N.Y.) is also scheduled to run in the 3000m finals tomorrow as she joins the relay team in finals competition on Sunday.

Women's Indoor Track Races to 16th Place Finish (Out of 36) at New England Championships
The Quinnipiac women's indoor track team came out and put together an impressive all-around performance on Saturday to conclude the New England Championships in 16th place overall with 16 points. Three more school records were broken as sophomore Rebecca Stabile (Haverhill, Mass.) broke her 500m school record, the 4 x 400m relay team qualified for the ECAC Championships with a record-breaking run and the 4 x 800m relay team also turned in a school record on Saturday to up the Bobcats’ season total to 22 program records broken. UConn came away with a first place finish in the overall standings with 149.33 points from the host location of Boston University.

Carolyn Martin Honored as NEC Women's Indoor Track Coach Of The Year; Several More Bobcats Take Home Awards
After the most successful season in program history, Quinnipiac women's indoor track head coach Carolyn Martin was distinguished as the Northeast Conference Coach of the Year on Thursday, as announced by the league office. The honor is the second in Martin’s four-year tenure at Quinnipiac but her first in women’s indoor track as her other Coach of the Year came in her first season with women’s cross country in 2009.

Quinnipiac Women's Indoor Track Breaks Three More School Records in Day One of New England Championships
The illustrious 2012-13 Quinnipiac women's indoor track team continued their unthinkable run on Friday as three more school records fell by the wasteside in day one action at the New England Championships hosted by Boston University. Freshman Shameal Samuels (Hartford, Conn.) dazzled in the 400m, junior Rebecca Stabile (Haverhill, Mass.) shined in the 500m and the distance medley team on Friday recorded the first sub-12 minute time in program history. With three more records falling, the Bobcats’ run their season total to 19 records broken this season in eight different events.

Women's Indoor Track Finishes 6th at Northeast Conference Championships
The two Quinnipiac women's indoor track relay teams carried the Bobcats on Sunday to a sixth place team finish at the Northeast Conference Championship from the Prince George’s Sports & Learning Complex. The distance medley relay squad earned a second place finish, highest for the Bobcats on the afternoon, while the 4 x 400m relay team finishing in fourth place overall while breaking a school record in the process. Seven total runners placed on Sunday to help Quinnipiac earn a total of 45 points while Monmouth successfully defended their championship with 140.5 total points.

Pair of Bobcats Place in 3000m; Three Runners Advance to One Mile Final After Day 1 of Women's Indoor Track NEC Championship
A pair of Bobcats in senior Becca White (Natick, Mass.) and junior Brianna Faust (Macungie, Pa.) placed for Quinnipiac women's indoor track in the 3000m while an astonishing three Bobcat qualified for the one mile run finals after Day 1 of the Northeast Conference Championship. Quinnipiac currently sits sixth in the points standings with 10 after four events wrapped up on Saturday while defending champion Monmouth currently leads with 42.5 points.

Northeast Conference Title on the Line This Weekend for Women's Indoor Track
After a blistering regular season that saw 14 program records broken, the Quinnipiac women's indoor track team looks to claim their first ever Northeast Conference Championship this weekend. The meet will take place on Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 9-10, at the Prince George’s Sports & Learning Complex in Landover, Md.

Quinnipiac men’s hockey senior Eric Hartzell (White Bear Lake, Minn.) and women’s indoor track freshman Shameal Samuels (Hartford, Conn.) have been named Quinnipiac’s January Male and Female Athletes of the Month.

Alea Simons Runs First Sub-Eight Second 60 Meter Dash in School History; Highlights Bobcats' Effort at Dartmouth Classic
Yet another record-breaking run highlighted the Quinnipiac women's indoor track effort at the Dartmouth Classic on Saturday as freshman Alea Simons (Piscataway, N.J.) became the first Bobcat to run a sub-eight second 60m dash, crossing the line at 7.95 seconds. Simons’ run on Saturday moves the Bobcats’ season total to 14 school records broken through six meets as the team now prepares for the Northeast Conference Championships next weekend.

With four record-breaking runs on Friday, the Bobcats push their remarkable total to 13 school records broken through five meets this season.

Women's Indoor Track Places 14th out of 21 Teams at Great Dane Classic
Several individual efforts guided the Quinnipiac women's indoor track team to a 14th place finish at the Great Dane Classic from the University of Albany on Friday night. Racing in a field with several standout institutions, Quinnipiac’s 12 points on the evening was good for the 14th best score while the winner of the event was UConn with a team score of 110.50.

Sam Stabile Helps Women's Indoor Track Break 9th School Record This Season at Go Rhody Invitational
After over a month off, the Quinnipiac women's indoor track picked up right where it left off breaking another school record in the high jump on Friday afternoon from the University of Rhode Island at the Go Rhody Invitational. Junior Sam Stabile (Haverhill, Mass.) established a new program record in the event with a height of 5’1 (1.55 meters) to headline the Quinnipiac contingent.

Three Freshmen Highlight Women's Indoor Track at Yale as Three More School Records Fall
The Quinnipiac women's indoor track team finished up the 2012 calendar year at the Yale Lid Lifter and another three school records fell on Saturday. Though the meet was unscored, the Bobcats had several individual standouts and relay team wins that will carry the team into the spring semester.

Bobcats Break Five School Records as Women's Indoor Track Races at Jay Carisella Invitational
Racing in their 2012-13 season debut, the Quinnipiac women's indoor track team showcased several runners at the Jay Carisella Invitational hosted by Boston University as five separate school records all were broken on Saturday. Sophomore Rebecca Stabile established a new record in the 500m while a freshmen trio in Shameal Samuels, Kristen Ulrich and Alea Simmons all recorded program records in the 400m, 200m, and 60m, respectively. The fifth record fell in the 4x400m where the foursome of Stabile, Samuels, and freshmen Ashley Niemic and Nadia Jarvis all teamed up for the relay.

Women's Indoor Track and Field Hires Renowned Assistant Coach Wilton Wright
Quinnipiac women's indoor track head coach Carolyn Martin along with Quinnipiac Director of Athletics and Recreation Jack McDonald have announced the hiring of Wilton B. Wright for the women’s indoor track program. Wright comes to Quinnipiac with an unmistaken pedigree in the sport of track & field as he has been involved with coaching for over years.
