Youth has come through time and time again for the Bobcats this season as freshmen Shameal Samuels (Hartford, Conn.), Nadia Jarvis (Port Republic, N.J.), Alea Simons (Piscataway, N.J.) and Kristen Ulrich (Clark, N.J.) have carried the team throughout several events and helped establish nearly ever record broke this season.

Simons is a legitimate threat for the NEC title in the 60m dash. The freshman has improved upon her record time in every meet she has competed this season and just last week became the first Bobcat to run a sub-eight second 60m dash at the Dartmouth Classic with a blazing time of 7.95 seconds.

Nearly as impressive as Simons this season has been fellow freshman teammate Sameuls. The Hartford native has owned the 400m dash with two record-breaking times as well another program record in the 200m. Combined with her efforts in the 4 x 400m relay, Samuels has burst onto the scene as one of best all-around runners for the Bobcats heading into the conference meet.

Sustained success in the long distance events has been the Bobcats' calling card over the years and the team is fully prepared to challenge for individual crowns in each of runs. Senior Becca White (Natick, Mass.) goes for back-to-back titles in the 5k as she earned All-NEC honors with a time of 17:35.50 in 2012. White has placed first for the Bobcats in both the one mile and 5k at times this season and will hope to make build to her legacy as one of the greatest runners in program history.

The Bobcats may have the most depth in the one mile run than any other this season. Five runners including seniors White and Rachel Morelli (Philadelphia, Pa.), graduate student Morgan Roche (Clifton Park, N.Y.) and freshmen Chelsea Savage (Pembroke, Mass.) and Tracy Campbell (Wall Township, N.J.) have all placed first on the team in the one mile at times this season.

The 3000m also has great depth for Quinnipiac as Roche, juniors Amanda and Brianna Faust (Macungie, Pa.) and senior Andrea Szarkowicz (Watertown, Conn.) have all placed first at times this season in the long distance event. Roche currently has the best time of the season at 9:56.08 and is the only runner to run the event under 10 minutes but the Bobcats have proven depth as all are capable of scoring over the weekend.

Quinnipiac also is hoping for a great finish in the distance medley after the team consisting of Samuels, White, Roche and Ulrich combined for a third place finish with a time of 12:03 at Yale to qualify for the ECAC Championships.

The women's events will kick off at 11:40 am on Saturday and 12:20 pm on Sunday. Please refer to the official website of Quinnipiac Athletics,, for results at the conclusion of each day.
