DURHAM, N.H. - The Quinnipiac University women's outdoor track team ran at the Wildcat Invitational Saturday afternoon hosted by the University of New Hampshire. Freshman Andrea Szarkowicz (Watertown, Conn.) finished first in steeplechase with a time of 11:47.02 to highlight the meet for the Bobcats. Sophomore Julie Lanning (Victor, N.Y.) was second in the event in 11:56.02.
"Overall we had a good day," head coach Carolyn Martin said. "It was a windy day and so some of the performances might not have shown through. We had some good times and I know that we are getting much better with every meet and I am excited for the stretch part of this season."
In the 1500-meter race, sophomore Rebecca White (Natick, Mass.) finished third overall third with a time of 4:47.36. Senior Lindsey Pierret (Morristown, N.J.) crossed the line in fifth place with a time of 4:56.73
Junior Jeana Favat (Gibbsboro, N.J.) crossed the line in 1:09.39 in the 400-meter hurdles. Sophomore Katie Beam (South Windsor, Conn.) was fourth in 5K in 18:28.77
In the triple jump, sophomore Amanda Duggan (Waldwick, N.J.) jumped 10.24 meters for sixth place overall.
The Bobcats return to action again on Saturday, April 17, when they return to run at the University of Connecticut. Quinnipiac ran at the UConn Invitational last weekend and will run again in Storrs next weekend.
