PHILADELPHIA - Three members of the Quinnipiac University women's outdoor track team ran at the Penn Relays Thursday night at Franklin Field on the campus of the University of Pennsylvania. Freshman Becca White (Natick, Mass.) was the highlight of the evening for the Bobcats, posting a personal-best time of 17:16.40 in the 5000 meters. That time was good enough to qualify the first-year Bobcat with a spot in the ECAC Championships at Princeton on May 14 and 15.
"The Penn Relays are a great meet for any team to go to," Head Coach Carolyn Martin. "The girls were really excited to run and race against good competition tonight. I think that this is an experience that will benefit the entire team in the future."
Senior Lindsey Pierret (Morristown, N.J.) ran in the 10,000-meter race. Her time of 37:50.41 placed her 33rd overall, just missing a qualifying time for ECACs. Sophomore Morgan Roche (Clifton Park, N.Y.) ran in the 3000-meter race, posting a time of 10:34.
The Bobcats return to action on Sunday in New Haven at the Yale Springtime Invitational. The meet is scheduled to begin at 11:00 a.m.
