Women's Outdoor Track Opens 2011 At Richmond's Fred Hardy Invitational

Richmond, Va. - The Quinnipiac University women's outdoor track team opened the 2011 season at the University of Richmond's fifth annual Fred Hardy Invitational on Friday, March 25.

"Overall, I think today was one of our best season openers and a great start to the outdoor season," said Quinnipiac head coach Carolyn Martin. "The team is running faster than when they left off the indoor season, so I'm excited to see how the ladies perform this year."

The Bobcats were represented by seven runners in the 5,000-meter run and were led by Morgan Roche (Clifton Park, N.Y.) who finished as Quinnipiac's top runner and in third place overall in 17:47.54. Kristen Stevens (Succasunna, N.J.) followed in fourth place with a time of 17:49:38, while Paige Pallotto (Westbrook, Conn.) ran a personal-best time of 18:19.86, good for a sixth-place finish.

Sophomore Becca White (Natick, Mass) was the Bobcats' top runner in the 1,500-meter run as she placed fifth with a time of 4:43.83. Sisters Amanda and Christina Faust (Macungie, Pa.) finished next for Quinnipiac, in 16th and 22nd place, respectively. Amanda posted a time of 4:56.57, while Christina finished in 5:02.13.
