Women's Outdoor Track Opens 2011 At Richmond's Fred Hardy Invitational
Richmond, Va. - The Quinnipiac University women's outdoor track
team opened the 2011 season at the University of Richmond's fifth
annual Fred Hardy Invitational on Friday, March 25.
"Overall, I think today was one of our best season openers and a
great start to the outdoor season," said Quinnipiac head coach Carolyn
Martin. "The team is running faster than when they left off the
indoor season, so I'm excited to see how the ladies perform this
year."
The Bobcats were represented by seven runners in the 5,000-meter
run and were led by Morgan
Roche (Clifton Park, N.Y.) who finished as Quinnipiac's top
runner and in third place overall in 17:47.54. Kristen
Stevens (Succasunna, N.J.) followed in fourth place with a time
of 17:49:38, while Paige
Pallotto (Westbrook, Conn.) ran a personal-best time of
18:19.86, good for a sixth-place finish.
Sophomore Becca
White (Natick, Mass) was the Bobcats' top runner in the
1,500-meter run as she placed fifth with a time of 4:43.83. Sisters
Amanda and Christina
Faust (Macungie, Pa.) finished next for Quinnipiac, in
16
th and 22
nd place, respectively. Amanda
posted a time of 4:56.57, while Christina finished in 5:02.13.
