PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – Senior Morgan Roche (Clifton Park, N.Y.) and junior Becca White (Natick, Mass.) of the Quinnipiac University women's outdoor track team competed in the first day of the 118th Annual Penn Relays, hosted by the University of Pennsylvania, on Thursday night at Franklin Field.
"I was really pleased with tonight's racing," said head coach Carolyn Martin. "They both battled and ran very aggressive. I can't wait to see how the rest of the season unfolds after watching such a great night of racing."
Roche raced in the college women's 3,000-meter steeplechase and finished the event in 18th place overall with a time of 11:09.12.
White represented Quinnipiac in the college women's 5,000-meter run where she set a new PR as she placed 13th out of a field of 25 runners. White crossed the finish line in a personal-best time of 16:48.25.
The Bobcats return to action when they compete at the Yale Springtime Invitational on Sunday, April 29. Quinnipiac will honor four seniors at Sunday's meet, including Amanda Duggan (Waldwick, N.J.), Julie Lanning (Victor, N.Y.), Kaitie Kelly (Weymouth, Mass.), and Katie Beam (South Windsor, Conn.).
