Five Quinnipiac University teams have received a Public Recognition Award from the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) for earning high scores in the most recent Academic Progress Rate (APR) compilation.

Women's Track & Field Wraps Up 2013 Season at New England Championships
The Quinnipiac University women’s outdoor track & field team earned several All-New England honors on Saturday as the Bobcats wrapped up competition at the New England Championships, hosted by Stonehill College in Easton, Mass. The day was highlighted by Shameal Samuels (Hartford, Conn.) and Becca Stabile (Haverhill, Mass.) who fared well in their respective event finals among New England’s most talented athletes.

Shameal Samuels Cruises to School Record and Top Spot in 400m Prelims at Day One of New England Championships
The strong late-season surge for the Quinnipiac women's outdoor track team continued on Friday where two more school records fell and two Bobcats qualified for individual finals on Saturday from the New England Championships at W.B. Mason Stadium. Freshman Shameal Samuels (Hartford, Conn.) starred in the preliminaries with a Quinnipiac indoor and outdoor track program record while sophomore Becca Stabile (Haverhill, Mass.) joined Samuels in qualifying for their respective event finals to be held on Saturday. The Bobcats find themselves tied for 16th place out of 21 teams after the first day of action with three points while UMass Amherst and Tufts are currently tied atop the leader board with 26 team points.

Women's Outdoor Track Finishes Eighth at NEC Championships; Bobcats Place Four in Top-Eight in 1500m Finals
The Quinnipiac women's outdoor track team finished strong in their final Northeast Conference Championships with an eighth place team finish and 46 cumulative points throughout the two-day event. Freshman Tracy Campbell (Wall Township, N.J.) headlined a group of four Bobcats who placed in the 1500m finals while sophomore Becca Stabile (Haverhill, Mass.) dazzled with a school record and third place finish in the 400m hurdles. The 46 points for the Bobcats is their most at the NECs since the 2008 season as the team continues to evolve in all facets. Monmouth University dominated the field with 218 points and their fifth straight NEC crown.

Women's Outdoor Track's Stabile Sisters Featured in Hometown Eagle Tribune
Both Samantha and Becca Stabile (Haverhill, Mass.) of the Quinnipiac women's outdoor track team were highlighted in a story written by the Eagle Tribune’s Michael Muldoon. The story entitled “Haverhill's Stabile Sisters Reunited at Quinnipiac” focused on the journey of each sister through the early stages of college with Sam ultimately transferring to Quinnipiac when Becca was a freshman in 2011. Both were local stars back at Haverhill with each owning school records upon graduation and just recently combined to break Quinnipiac’s 4 x 400m relay school record.

Women's Outdoor Track Seventh After Day One of NEC Championships; 4 x 800 m Relay Places Second
After the final whistle blew on Day One of the Northeast Conference Women's Outdoor Track and Field Championships, the Bobcats found a great deal of success throughout the afternoon on their way to 12 points, good enough for seventh place out of the 12 competing programs. The Quinnipiac women's outdoor track 4 x 800m relay earned eight of the team’s 12 points with a second-place finish on Saturday while four Bobcats all advanced to the finals of the 1500m on Sunday. Monmouth University currently leads with 87 points after Day One action.

Northeast Conference Women's Outdoor Track and Field Title on the Line This Weekend for the Bobcats
After one of the most impressive regular seasons in program history, the Quinnipiac womens' outdoor track team will be heading to West Long Branch, N.J., the home of Monmouth University, to compete in the Northeast Conference Championships. With 17 record-breaking runs in 12 different events through six meets this season, the Bobcats come into the two-day meet running their best races of the season. Finishing ninth in last year’s NEC Championships will certainly motivate this young crew in hopes of continuing their remarkable 2013 campaign.

Senior Class Honored; Stabile Sisters Each Post School Record at Yale Springtime Invitational
The sister tandem of Sam and Becca Stabile each had their moments but Sunday belonged to the Quinnipiac women's outdoor track team senior class who were all honored before the start of the Yale Springtime Invitational. Among the Bobcats who received recognition included Hannah Donadio (Killingworth, Conn.), Rachel Morelli (Philadelphia, Pa.), Sam Stabile (Haverhill, Mass.), Morgan Roche (Clifton Park, N.Y.), Rebecca Smith (Hamburg, N.J.), Martha Santandreu (Hamburg, N.Y.) and Andrea Szarkowicz (Watertown, Conn.).

4 x 800m Relay Squad Posts Outdoor School Record to Cap Women's Track's Effort at Penn Relays
After already breaking two outdoor school records on Friday, the Quinnipiac women's outdoor track team capped their stint at the illustrious Penn Relays on Saturday with yet another record-breaking run. The 4 x 800m relay team was the only Bobcat group in action on Saturday and the squad put together a sensational run that beat an eight-year-old outdoor record. The Bobcats will certainly look to carry the positive momentum into next weekend’s NEC Championships.

Andrea Szarkowicz Posts Top-10 and New Program-Record in Steeplechase at Penn Relays
Competing in the world's most-illustrious track meet other than the Olympics, the Quinnipiac women's outdoor track team posted two more school-records in what was an overall impressive outing on Thursday from the Penn Relays at Franklin Field. The Bobcats were led by an inspired effort from senior Andrea Szarkowicz (Watertown, Conn.) who completed her event with a Top-10 finish and new school record in the 3000m steeplechase while Quinnipiac's distance medley group also posted a new school-record on Thursday.

Becca Stabile Runs Personal and School-Record 400m Hurdles; Highlights Women's Outdoor Track at Larry Ellis Invite
Three more school records fell as the Quinnipiac women's outdoor track team continued their stellar campaign at the Larry Ellis Invitational hosted by Princeton University at Weaver Stadium. Sophomore Becca Stabile (Haverhill, Mass.) certainly impressed, running a personal and school-record in her signature event, the 400m hurdles. The Bobcats continue to make strides in both the short and long distance events as the NEC Conference Championship looms in just two weeks.

Christina Faust Wins First Career Event; Shameal Samuels Breaks Two School Records at Brown Invitational
The Quinnipiac women's outdoor track team took to Brown Stadium for the Brown University Invitational where junior Christina Faust (Macungie, Pa.) and freshman Shameal Samuels (Hartford, Conn.) shined on Saturday with stellar individual performances. Three more school records fell by the waste side as Samuels bested her program record established earlier this season in both the 200m and 400m while the 4 x 400m relay team also posted another program-best on Saturday.

Distance Runners Impress; Shameal Samuels Breaks Another Women's Outdoor Track Record at George Davis Invitational
The Quinnipiac women's outdoor track team completely dominated the 3000m event on Saturday at the George Davis Invitational hosted by UMass Lowell as five Bobcats placed in the Top-10 to highlight what was a brutally cold day of action. Freshman Shameal Samuels (Hartford, Conn.) also broke a school record in the 200m in her first career attempt at the event as the team has now accumulated six record-breaking results in six different events.

In a day that saw the Quinnipiac women's outdoor track team break six school records, freshman Shameal Samuels (Hartford, Conn.) dazzled with a record-breaking 400m to highlight the Bobcats’ effort in Day Two of the Fred Hardy Invitational. Coming off an impressive Day One showing that saw senior Andrea Szarkowicz (Watertown, Conn.) win the 3k Steeplechase, Samuels picked up where she left off from the indoor season and tore up the course with her 400m run.

Andrea Szarkowicz Wins 3000m Steeplechase to Highlight Women's Outdoor Track in Day One of Fred Hardy Invitational
Coming off one of the best indoor track seasons in program history, the Quinnipiac women's outdoor track team posted an impressive start to the 2013 campaign in Day One action of Richmond’s Fred Hardy Invitational. Senior Andrea Szarkowicz (Watertown, Conn.) won the 3000m Steeplechase event while junior Brianna Faust (Macungie, Pa.) churned in a personal best in the 5000m on her way to a fourth place finish. Overall the Bobcats had five Top-10 finishers on the afternoon to kickstart their 2013 season.
