Quinnipiac Women's Volleyball Earns AVCA Team Academic Award
HAMDEN, Conn. - The American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) today announced that the Quinnipiac University women's volleyball team has earned the 2007-08 AVCA Team Academic Award for the second consecutive year. The award honors all NCAA men's and women's volleyball teams that displayed excellence in the classroom by maintaining at least a 3.30 grade-point average on a 4.0 scale. The Bobcats volleyball team finished with a department-high 3.44 GPA.
"One of our team goals last year was to once again win the AVCA Team Academic Award," said Quinnipiac Volleyball Head Coach Robin Sparks. "These student-athletes worked very hard all year to achieve this goal, and along the way we also earned the highest cumulative GPA of all sports teams here at Quinnipiac. I couldn't be prouder of their dedication to the classroom."
