Volleyball Gets Final Non-Conference Tune-Up Wednesday

Back to the Future
The Quinnipiac volleyball team returns to action, Wednesday, when they face future Northeast Conference opponent, Bryant. The Bobcats and Bulldogs squared off earlier at the Brown Invitational on Sept. 19, with Bryant taking a 3-0 victory.

Taking it One at a Time
After taking part in six tournaments, accounting for 20 of the Bobcats' first 22 matches, Quinnipiac will now play one match per date for the remainder of the season. Up first is a non-conference tilt with Bryant before four consecutive NEC matches.
My Kind of Town
The Bobcats played some of their best volleyball in Chicago, Oct. 3-4. Quinnipiac swept Chicago State, 3-0, on Oct. 3, before winning the first set and leading in the second against Providence, Oct. 4. In the two matches, setter Kayla Lawler (Richmond, Ind.) racked up 71 assists, while Jenna Benigno (Milford, Conn.) tallied 26 kills. Stephanie Biediger's (Houston, Texas) 26 digs were a team high.
Scouting The Bryant Bulldogs
The Bulldogs have found immediate success in their inaugural year at Division I, beginning the season with a 12-8 mark. Freshman outside hitter Hilary Andrews has a team-high 195 kills and a 2.75 kills per set average. Sophomore setter Miranda Kolb has totaled 638 assists, while freshman middle hitter Marie Scocca has a team-best 76 blocks. Senior libero Delia Glover leads the Bulldogs with 290 digs.
The Bobcats open Northeast Conference play, Saturday, Oct. 18, when they travel to Hackensack, N.J., to take on Fairleigh Dickinson. The match is scheduled for 1 p.m. at the Rothman Center.
