QUEENS, N.Y. - Freshman Chelsey Pachoud (Riverview, Fla.) reached double-digit digs in both matches, but the Quinnipiac University volleyball team was defeated by St. John's and Boston College, both by a score of 3-0, in the St. John's Classic at Taffner Field House Saturday. The Red Storm defeated the Bobcats, 25-22, 25-16, 25-20, before the Eagles got by the Bobcats, 25-12, 25-20, 25-21. With the losses, the Bobcats fall to 0-3, while the Red Storm improved to 2-5 and the Eagles upped their mark to 5-1.
Pachoud had 13 digs against St. John's and 11 against Boston College, while sophomore Kelby Carey (Surfside, Calif.) had a team-high 16 kills on the day. Kayla Lawler (Richmond, Ind.) finished with 29 assists. The Bobcats registered six blocks against the Red Storm, with Alyssa Naylor (San Diego, Calif.) and Taylor Payne (Warwick, N.Y.) playing a part in three blocks each. Lawler also assisted on a pair of blocks.
The Bobcats return to action Tuesday, when they travel to Hanover, N.H., to take on Dartmouth. The match is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. at Leede Arena.
