Volleyball Edged At Fairleigh Dickinson, 3-2

HACKENSACK, N.J. - Taylor Payne (Warwick, N.Y.) had 13 kills and six blocks and Logan Riker (Bowling Green, Ohio) added 28 digs, but the Quinnipiac University volleyball team was edged by Fairleigh Dickinson, 3-2, Sunday afternoon at Stratis Arena. With the loss, the Bobcats fall to 2-14 (0-3 NEC), while the Knights improve to 7-12 (2-2 NEC).

Stephanie Biediger (Houston, Texas) also added 10 kills, while Kayla Lawler (Louisville, Ky.) had 40 assists, 17 digs and five service aces. Kelby Carey (Surfside, Calif.) added 17 digs, while Tracy Wright (Fair Lawn, N.J.) had 16 digs.

The Bobcats took the first set, 25-23, before the Knights earned a 26-24 victory in the second set. Quinnipiac took a 2-1 set lead with a 25-22 win in the third, before FDU drew even once again with a 28-26 win in the fourth. The Knights took the win with a 15-11 decision in the fifth set.

The Bobcats return to action Saturday, when they play host to Robert Morris. First serve is scheduled for 2 p.m. at the Burt Kahn Court.
