Volleyball Falls At Holy Cross, 3-0HAMDEN, Conn. - Kayla Lawler (Louisville, Ky.) had 31 assists but the Quinnipiac University volleyball team was defeated by Holy Cross, 3-0, in a non-conference match at Holy Cross Field House Wednesday night. With the loss, the Bobcats fall to 4-15, while the Crusaders improve to 10-14.
The Crusaders won the first set, 25-18, before being pushed to a 25-23 decision in the second. Holy Cross closed out the match with a 25-19 win in the third set.
Olivia Grattan (Pittsburgh, Pa.) and Kelby Carey (Surfside, Calif.) had nine kills each to lead the Bobcats, while Taylor Payne (Warwick, N.Y.) was close behind with eight kills. Logan Riker (Bowling Green, Ohio) had 14 digs, while Carey had 10 digs. Amanda Armstrong (Waukesha, Wis.) had a team-best two blocks.
The Bobcats return to action Saturday, when they travel to Brooklyn, N.Y., to face St. Francis (N.Y.). First serve from the Genovesi Center is scheduled for 1 p.m.
