Volleyball Falls At Central Connecticut, 3-0

NEW BRITAIN, Conn. - Kayla Lawler (Louisville, Ky.) had 26 assists and seven digs, but the Quinnipiac University volleyball team was defeated by Central Connecticut, 3-0, Saturday afternoon at Detrick Gym. With the loss, the Bobcats fall to 5-17 (3-5 NEC), while the Blue Devils improve to 6-14 (3-5 NEC).

The Blue Devils defeated the Bobcats, 25-18, in the first set, before winning the second and third sets, both by 25-21 margins.

Kelby Carey (Surfside, Calif.) and Olivia Grattan (Pittsburgh, Pa.) led the Bobcats with seven kills apiece, while Stephanie Biediger (Houston, Texas) had a team-high eight digs and three blocks. Grattan matched Biediger's three blocks. Tracy Wright (Fair Lawn, N.J.) had a team-best two service aces to go along with seven digs.

The Bobcats return to action Sunday, when they play host to Fairleigh Dickinson. First serve from the Burt Kahn Court is scheduled for 2 p.m.
